Several months after France was shaken up by ecologist (and ex-potential candidate to the French presidential elections), Nicolas Hulot and his "Pacte Ecologique", Britain sees its environmental motivation tested too.

And it is impressively efficient.

Ask Big, Get Big
The Big Ask campaign was launched last year and asked all MPs to call for a 3% annual cut in carbon dioxide's emissions, the main cause of climate change. Some 130 000 people signed it and Radiohead frontman, Thom Yorke, supported the movement. Last November, the British government announced that it would introduce a new Climate Bill.

UK As An Example
Now, far from resting on their laurels, Big Ask campaigners have decided to keep on pressuring the government and make sure the Climate Bill is as though as possible.

International environmental network, Friends of the Earth (FOE), believes that by doing so the UK could become "an example for the rest of the world".

The "Right Thing"
Put simply, the Big Ask is an easy and efficient way for citizens to make their voices heard. And to make sure politicians stick to their word and do what FOE calls the "right thing" for the UK.
